Care and Love Orphanage, Jagatgirrigutta, Hyderabad

Care & Love Orphanage currently cares for 34 orphan and destitute children. We have been associated with the home since end of 2008.

With the help of likeminded people we were able to bring a total transformation about and improve the quality of life of these children in a wonderful way.

The result..

Renovation of:

• Bathroom facilities

• Bedrooms

• Cupboard and shoe storing facilities for each of the children

• Dining area

• New kitchen with interiors

• Re-flooring of compound

• Provided cupboard for home administrational purposes

• Plastering and painting of wall

Besides this we have been able to provide the following:

• Hygiene kits

• Toys and educational games, puzzles

• Bicycles for the little ones

• School books

• School uniforms

• Home uniforms

• Shoes

• Payment of school fees of sponsored children

• Monthly donation to cover a substantial amount for the food budget

We have in place a sponsor a child program and invite you to sponsor individual children’s education and livelihood expenses. Presently we are in the process of setting up a small computer lab to introduce the children to the use of this technology.

Socialization activities & Equal Opportunity outings

Indoor Activities:

Since 2008 we have not let Diwali or Christmas pass without making it a special occasion with snacks gift, crackers and lot of fun.

Family In Action spends regular friendship time with the children where we interact, play games, just talk, check homework and we are there to “be friends”.

Together with Baal Dan and some employees from Deloitte, we organized a fun-day for the children. We divided into six groups and each made some flowers and butterflies which were later pasted on to a wall mural. It was a delightful day of fun, games and snacks!

Deloitte employees have in the year 2010 given five of their Saturdays to spend quality time with the children, from craft, to games and an outing to a park.

Picnic:

In April 09 we took the children for a picnic to GATI farm house outside Hyderabad. They had a day of swimming, playing around, climbing mango trees, watching the cows get milked and lots of food! Thanks to GATI, Oakridge for the bus and Sam for organizing the games the children had a great day!

Hard Rock Cafe:

On the 19th of Sept 09, the children from Care & Love orphanage were invited to the opening of Hard Rock Café in Hyderabad. They were treated like royalty and given plenty of juice and food. Sam, our event manager friend, came and organized some games for the children. The staff was very friendly and every hour danced their ‘theme’ dance for the children!
